Will you take one day to help Children in need?

Compassion Sunday is April 22, 2007

By the time you read this paragraph, a child in Asia will die from waterborne parasites. A little one in Africa will perish from AIDS. In fact, every three seconds a child under age 5 will die from a completely preventable cause. And of course, the Lord our Father grieves the loss of each one.

But what if it took just one day to give the Asian girl access to clean water? Or help the little one in Africa receive lifesaving medicine? And what if it took only one voice - yours - to prevent the death of dozens more just like them? Would you take that one day? Would you be that one voice?

Compassion Sunday is an annual event that provides sponsors and donors across the United States a chance to speak out to their local church congregations on behalf ofchildren in need. They share about their involvement in Compassion’s ministry and the joy they experience through one-to-one sponsorship. Last year, more than 19,000 children were sponsored through Compassion Sunday events, and this year we hope to find sponsors for 20,000 children registered with Compassion.

Carmen Mesta is Alive

Did you catch today’s Y&R episode? Carmen Mesta is Alive! Poor Drew had to go and check herself into the hospital. I knew that Carmen was alive and I got goose bumps when Neil saw her in the hallway. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

The Oscars were Boring, Don’t you think?

The only part about watching the Oscars that I really enjoyed were a couple of the performances, the kids, and the last three awards. Oh and Ellen was pretty funny. I hope Rosie was taking notes.

I have to just say this.. we all know that Ellen is attracted to women. Rosie is attracted to women too. But can somebody tell me how come Ellen doesn’t shove her sexuality down our throats?

Ellen, if you are reading this maybe you can knock some sense into Rosie because I am sick of hearing about something that is NONE of my business. Who she wants to have sex with is not important. I don’t go around telling people who I want to have sex with - why should she?

Enough on that subject - back to the Oscars.

Jennifer Hudson rocked the house!!

Beyonce’s voice is phenomenal. She has that goose bump factor!!

Will Smith’s son is the cutest. I had not realized before last night that the little boy in his movie was his son. That had to be something truly special to be able to act out in a movie with your child. I just love the Smith family.

In the future I would appreciate it if the Oscars would stick more to the awards and less on politics. I think this should be a time when we can actually enjoy something without having to think about politics OR global warming.

I’m not even sure that global warming exists. Have you seen all the snow that we’ve had so far this year? I don’t think politicians have any business even being invited to the Oscars. Their place is in Washington actually doing their jobs?

Britney Anna Nicole Spears Smith

She’s been in and out of rehab quicker than we have had time to change the channels. What is going on with her? She has shaved her head. I’m wonderring if her being in rehab is a way of finding a place where she can be free of the press?

I watched the Anna Nicole trial this week. What a three ring circus that was. Can you believe that the judge actually took testimony over the telephone? I was happy with the Judge’s decision and quite thrilled when I saw the two possible daddies look as if they were united in putting Anna’s body to rest in peace. Anna’s mother must LOVE the drama and it really didn’t shock me to find out that she went ahead and filed an appeal anyway.

Both situations are pathetic and sad.
