Another case of celebrity herpes

It’s circulating all over the internet that this NYPD Latin hunk has herpes! Supposedly his ex girlfriend is trying to say that she contracted it from him. Hmmm, how does she figure that she didn’t already have it when they were having sex? With all the celebrities that have herpes running around Hollywood you would think one of them would have the guts to stand up and speak out about the stigma associated with this STD, eh?

I think it’s ridiculous when one partner tries to sue the other partner for having herpes.
First of all, if a person winds up having herpes how on earth do they know who exactly they contracted it from if they’ve had more than one partner in their lifetime?
Just because you have an outbreak doesn’t mean that it’s from the most recent partner. You could have had herpes for a long time and then lately because of a stressful situation (like a celebrity breakup) get your first primary outbreak ever.

jooce,
You are absolutely right. As much jumping from bed to bed that goes on as portrayed in the tabloids and on T.V. it’s no wonder that more don’t have it and might very well have but it just not being publicized as much. A lot of people who have this STD don’t talk about and they don’t tell other people they have it. That’s the sad part.

Routine STD testing does NOT include a test for herpes either. Did you know THAT one?
Most people assume when they go in to get tested that they are being tested for what they think is everything. They’re Not!

What amazes me isn’t that they’re hopping from bed to bed, but that they can’t be bothered to use a simple condom. I know it’s not 100%, but there seems to be a flagrant disregard for safe sex among celebrities. Think about all the influence they have with their fans, and they waste it.

It’s always a good idea to use condoms BUT they don’t protect you 100% from contracting STDS. I’m really glad that you already know that because I thought I was going to have to reach through my computer and slap you upside the head! lol And how on earth would you know that celebrities in Hollywood are not having safe sex?

It really makes you remember that you have to be careful with sex. The full measure. Condoms, know your partner, and get tested regularly (and ask to get tested for everything). I’ve only had sex with one person my whole life, but that doesn’t keep me from using a condom or getting tested. The fact is, you never know.

Jooce is right in what they say. In fact unless you have a physical outbreak you CANNOT be tested for it. You need the sores for clinics to be able to swab it. And even then the results are not 100% a lot of times. Also there are 2 types of Herpes. HSV1 and HSV2 almost everyone has one of them which is most common in things like coldsores. Even if you have never had a coldsore you could still have the virus. The other option is a blood test. But because there are 2 types of herpes and also shingles is a type of herpes.even if it comes back positive it cannot distinguish between the 2 types. So you could simply just hold the virus that could give you coldsores yet never have a coldsore. Also even if you have the coldsore type you can transfer it to genitals by oral sex apparently its even possible to get in in the eye, fingers, nose and pretty much any soft tissue areas. And yes you may have it years and never hae an outbreak so never know. Some people have the virus there whole lives and never have an outbreak. They can still be contagious but they wouldnt know that. So its almost impossible to trace where it came from. And in regards to condoms. It depends each time where the outbreak is for a guy it slims the chance down of passing it on if the main area of oubreak is just the penis. However its also possible for them to get outbreaks anywhere around the genitals which condoms do not cover so as you can imagine its even more likely for a woman and condoms simply will not protect her from potentially passing it on.
You dont have to sleep around a lot to contract it at all. Its extremely painful too and not to be laughed at. Its not just the pain if the sores but insane amounts of pain in legs your nervous system going crazy, throughout body along with flu like symptoms. Outbreaks vary from person to person but for some i have heard they can occur everytime they have sex. Others it can be any form of emotional stress or upset. Also i learned recently even certain foods and drinks can start it up. Foods high in lysine which include chocloate, soda, cola, coffee, sugar, wheat, soya, soy, nuts, seeds, alcohol, smoking, tea. As you can imagine it makes normal life difficult. There is no cure. There is still such a stigma following herpes yet its something that is so common and horrible for the sufferer especially due to society looking so dimly of it. Its a very complicated virus to have and deal with. As you can imagine it also causes a lot of anxiety and upset. The world needs teaching about herpes. About how almost no sex is safe sex where herpes is concerned and how when u go to an sti clinic they will not test for that. I hope this helps make things clearer.

Actually, it is possible ti find out your status without having an outbreak. All you have to do is to get a type specific herpes antibody test. Those will tell you if you have type-1, type-2, both OR nothing at all.
