Is Breastfeeding In Public Appropriate?
Here’s an open thread topic about breastfeeding over on Super Nanny Rules.
Niobe Swan is the foolish one. I suppose she thinks we should all walk around topless so the whole world can see what our boobies look like. For goodness sakes this is not the Garden of Eden before the devil tempted Eve and screwed Adam into taking a bite of the forbidden fruit. Keep your boobies to yourself. If I wanted to see another woman’s boobies I would subscribe to playboy or penthouse magazines.
Do you believe breastfeeding in public is appropriate? Why or why not?

My vote is yes it is appropriate. I’ve had four children, number four came this past week and must admit I did feed him in a public place just this weekend. Now I do believe there are two different types of breastfeeders, many will wonder what I mean here.
Let me show you my everything breastfeeder- No, I’m not one of those moms that pull it right out in the open for everyone. I don’t want everyone seeing my stuff.
The cover upper- This is me, normally I have a blanket of some sort with me to toss over my shoulder and place my child underneath so he/she can eat in peace. Now when I don’t have this, I slightly lift the shirt up enough to give him/her access to it and lower the shirt so no one can see what I’m doing. I know this works because I’ve been in Burger King and did this when I had a husband and wife walk right up and start petting him and never realized.
However, I will not suffer my bottom by sitting on a toilet just to feed my son. Many places where I currently live have bathrooms but nothing comfortable to sit on.

I think the one’s most people take issue with are the ones that have to parade their boobs around in the public because they’re own husbands don’t want to look at them anymore.

I don’t think you should have to stay in the bathroom in order to breastfeed. As long as people are covering up I don’t have a problem with it. I just don’t want to see your boobs and I don’t want you to see mine.
